Quilt labs are an opportunity to come have any quilting questions you have answered. If you are working on a pattern and can’t quite figure it out, or are working on a new technique and have become stumped, this is the place for you.
I’ll also be working and demonstrating various techniques at these sessions.
This class focuses on cutting the fabric straight and scant quarter inch seams.

BEGINNER QUILT BLOCK SERIES
This series of four skill building classes can be taken individually or all together.
LOG CABIN BLOCK – The Log Cabin block is a great way to learn how to cut fabric and sew scant 1/4″ seams
9 PATCH – The 9 Patch block builds skills in matching seams. A great start to matching points in more difficult blocks
HALF SQUARE TRIANGLE – Half Square Triangle (HST) are a very common building block in quilting and there are many ways to create one. The trick is in squaring them up.
FLYING GEESE – We will use the classic stitch and flip method to create flying geese in this class
SASHES AND BORDERS – Adding sashing and borders can make or break a quilt. Learn how to add them properly.
CLASSIC CURVES RULER
Conquer your fear of circles by learning to use the Classic Curves Ruler from Color Girl Quilts. Students will use the pattern included with the ruler to create a small quilt.
ACCORDIAN HALF SQUARE TRIANGLE
This fantastic new method of creating truly scrappy half square triangles was created by Eva Paige Quilts. We will learn the method and go home with a new pillow.
Sashiko is an ancient Japanese mending technique. Today it is used for decoration as well as mending. The embroidery can be quilt relaxing and meditative.
BEGINNER FREE MOTION QUILTING and WALKING FOOT QUILTING
Learn how to finish your quilts on your domestic sewing machine. Beginner Free Motion teaches the basics of using your free motion foot. Walking foot quilting teaches straight and curved line quilting.
