Lovingly Lissa 2021 Potholder Swap Information Sheet

Welcome to the Swap!  Please read the information below before joining.

The Fall Swap is a Potholder Swap!  Each participant agrees to send a PAIR of potholders to their partner.  These may be the regular flat potholders or oven mitt types, you can send two of the same kind or one of each, but you must send TWO!

IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE THAT THE POTHOLDERS HAVE AN INSULATED THERMAL LAYER OF BATTING.  Do NOT sign up for this swap if you do not plan on using a batting such as Insul-bright or Pellon Insul Fleece.  You should also add a cotton batting to these, DO NOT USE A POLYESTER BATTING.

(seriously, do not join if you will not follow the above batting requirements)

There is a $5.00 participation fee for the swap, the fee is not refundable.

When you join the swap, you receive the Hollyhock Potholder pattern by Lovingly, Lissa.  You do not need to use this pattern to participate in the swap.  A PDF of the pattern will be sent to you with your swap partner’s information email.

NOTE: Due to shipping costs, physical prizes cannot be shipped to international winners (outside the U.S.)  If an International participant is pulled as a winner I will substitute a $15 gift card to a local fabric store (that I can reach online to purchase said gift card).

Winners are selected by a random number generator and this contest is not affiliated with Instagram in any way.

You agree to abide by deadlines given for the swap.  

The dates for the Potholder Swap 2021 are as follows

September 17- Sign ups begin for Newsletter Subscribers ONLY

September 20- Sign ups open to all

October 1st – Sign ups close.  Sign ups will close earlier if 250 swappers join.

October 2nd – Payment deadline.  

October 4th – Partner emails will be sent by this date.

October 8th – Mosaics* posted on Instagram.

October 18th – Progress photo posted on Instagram.

October 21st – Shipping begins.  Please do not ship before this date.

October 30th- Shipping deadline.  All swap items must be shipped by this date

*Mosaics – a mosaic is a post showing things you like to help guide your partner in making an item you will like.  Please include colors and fabrics you tend to gravitate towards in this Instagram post.  You may also include handmade pincushions you like.  Please make sure to tag the creator of any potholders in your post.

Progress photo – please share the progress of your creation!!!  We want to see what you are making and drool over it!  

Please ship by the deadline.  

Please give at least 7 days past the shipping deadline (closer to 2-3 weeks if international shipping) before contacting me that you did not receive your potholders.  Be patient, something will arrive!  If there is a delay that I am aware of I will notify you.

You agree to communicate with me at lovinglylissaswaps@gmail.com if for some reason you can not complete the swap.  I get it, things happen.  Just let me know.  

Please allow me 24-48 hours to respond to an email.  Maybe a little more time if it happens over a weekend. Thanks!

Don’t reveal the recipient of your swap!  Partners are a surprise.  The person you are making for is not necessarily making for you.  You can post photos of your items without giving away the recipient.

Your Instagram account must be public so your partner can see your mosaics and get an idea about things you like.  It also allows me to keep track of participation.

Post plenty of pictures showing what you are working on and comment on other swapper’s posts.  This is a great way to build community and friendship.

Please be sure to post when you have received your swap item and thank your partner!  

Honestly, all I ask is that you do your best, enjoy yourself, and don’t flake out.  If something happens, contact me.  I’ve got angels happy to help.
