It’s that time of year, where I need hand work to keep me busy at kids’ activities. I have a huge Sashiko project planned, but the fabrics aren’t prepped yet. (I finally prewashed today). Happily, @rubystarsociety has a great Grid fabric that is all ready for me to stitch on. Tada!!!!!! The flimsy is complete and is at @alloway quilting to be longarmed quilted. I am so pleased with this layout. Hubby requested a red,white, and blue quilt so I just grabbed all my stash fabric in those colors and went at it with no end plan. When it came time to lay it out I knew I wanted the colors to read Red White and Blue from left to right. I had created a bit of a mock up in Illustrator to get me started on the design wall and it really helped. Just a few tweaks and the layout was done. This was my first time participating in this kind of event and I’m glad.
