Quilt Concert Series 2021

Announcing the Concert Series!

Concert (verb)  Arrange by mutual coordination

Concert (noun) Public Performance typically given by multiple performers

You are invited to join the concert quilt series hosted by Lissa of Lovingly Lissa and Cassandra of The (Not So) Dramatic Life! After a year apart, we are working in concert to bring our phenomenal quilting community a Modern-Traditional sew along.

The best part- if you follow along each week, its all FREE! (Keep reading for more details on that!)

Quilt measures 48″ x 60″

How it works:

Cassandra and I have selected a dozen traditional blocks and mixed them with some of our own designs to create a modern-traditional design using alternate grid work.

Each Friday one of us will post the instructions for a block on our blog, and that block will be FREE FOR ONE WEEK! The next week, a new block pattern will be released, and the block from the previous week will no longer be free.

If you miss a block, the block only pattern is available to purchase for $2 until October 22, 2021.

If you would like to purchase this pattern in its entirety, it will be available from either Lovingly Lissa or The (not so) Dramatic Life for $12 starting October 29, 2021.

Each Friday we will post a new block to our blogs. Make sure you sign up for our weekly newsletters to receive the link to both the new block and the link to the Friday night PJ Jam session. The block is free for one week!

Fabric:

This quilt top is designed to use a total of five yards of fabric. You can use the amounts listed below, or you can mix and match as much as you like. This would make an awesome scrappy quilt if you want to pull from your stash!

To construct the quilt using the layout shown, you will need the following amounts:

Fabric A (Blue): 1-3/4 yard

Fabric B (Red): 1 yard

Fabric C (Pink): 3/4 yard

Fabric D (Orange): 3/4 yard

Fabric E (Violet): 3/4 yard

If you would like to use the same colors as Cassandra, you can purchase the bundle here.

I worked closely with Sharon of Color Girl Quilts to curate my fabrics. If you would like to use my selections, the fabrics are available in her online shop.

Was it a success?

I’m talking about the pincushion swap. Was it successful?

I’d like to think so. From everything I’m seeing I think it was a resounding “YES!”

We had 80 participants, and as of right now not a single need for an angel pincushion.

I’ve seen some absolutely amazing pincushions being sent.

I’ve seen wonderful thank you’s posted.

I’ve been chatting with many of you on Instagram and I feel like there’s been quite a bit of community created.

Will I host another swap?

HELLS YEAH!!!!!!

Current swappers should expect a survey soon to help me plan for the next one.

If you want to be in the know, please sign up for my newsletter. Newsletter recipients will get advance notice of my swaps.

I’m feeling pretty dang successful.
