We lit ornaments on fire tonight.

My proudest finish is normally the most recent one😁. This quilt, Evolution, started with a question. What if? I’ve been playing with color and I wanted to know what if I had blocks that ranged from the lightest to the darkest values. So I made 100 stripes blocks of 1/4” and 1/2” strips. Then I needed something to do with the blocks. Slowly they evolved into this quilt. The picture isn’t that great since the weather was bad yesterday, but it is done and submitted to Quiltcon. (All those curves were created using @colorgirlquilts classic curves ruler) And, of course, my absolute proudest finish is A Sashiko Still Life that I finished one year ago. Over 200 hours of hand stitching went into this quilt and I adore it. Where I create is right behind that window. For now. There is hope that my teen son and I will switch after the holidays. He’s been using the finished basement as a bedroom. He agrees to switch with me only if he is allowed to bring the tv and Xbox with him. 😆. I think it’s worth it. I don’t keep a neat and tidy showroom. My studio is a mess, an absolute disaster area. But it works for me. If I do get to move to the basement, I’ll have much more storage with all the built-ins.
