Have you ever heard of Sashiko? It’s an ancient Japanese embroidery. Originally used to mend clothes, but currently used to do so much more.
I can’t remember when or where I first saw Sashiko and just fell in love with it. I took a class in Paducah this past spring and I am hooked.
I’ve mended my daughter’s pants…
I’ve made some wall decor…
I’ve decorated a tote bag…
And I’ve made a whole cloth quilt…
This has to be my favorite.
Sashiko is so relaxing and enjoyable. I am working on having the quilt design printed on fabric with wash-away ink. Stay tuned. It is taking a bit longer than I wanted but I am working on it.
Lovingly,
Lissa
Lissa, is your still life panel available yet?
No. I decided it leaned to heavily into cultural appropriation.
